Tristram Shandy

Tristram Shandy

2005, Comedy
Steve Coogan sends himself up as Tristram Shandy in this inventive and witty comedy, charting a film crew's on-set antics as they attempt to bring unfilmable novel The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman to the screen. The film combines excerpts from the book with the backstage struggles of the cast and crew, while a potential sex scandal and Coogan's rivalry with co-star Rob Brydon (which provides some comic gems) threaten to bring the production to a halt. Coogan has a dual role as he also plays Tristam's father. Also starring Gillian Anderson, Kelly Macdonald, Jeremy Northam, Dylan Moran and Stephen Fry.
