St. Louis Blues
Unhappy with her Broadway role as a "South Seas siren," singer Norma Malone (Dorothy Lamour) runs away, seeking refuge on board a Mississippi showboat run by Dave Geurney (Lloyd Nolan). Dave dismisses Norma's abilities and refuses to put her in his show, but lets her remain on board. Norma falls in love with Dave and assists him during various near-disasters on the boat. When the troupe is arrested after a tiff with rivals, Dave is surprised when Norma's singing talents come to the rescue.
