Long Day's Journey Into Night
Eugene O'Neill's semi-autobiographical play is delivered to the screen in this adaptation of a production from Canada's Stratford Festival. The insular story of a dysfunctional family is told over the course of one day in their Connecticut vacation house. The family is poised for collapse. The father (William Hutt), an actor past his prime, dominates his sons, alcoholic Jamie and consumptive Edmund (Tom McCamus), and Edmund's once-beautiful mother (Martha Henry) nurses a morphine addiction.
