In the Name of the People
During El Salvador's civil war in the 1980s, four filmmakers set out to embed themselves with the guerrilla forces fighting the government. The filmmakers accompany the guerrillas across the country in a journey culminating in a large battle in San Salvador. Along the way, they meet a diverse group of people who lend their support to the guerrilla cause, from peasants to an American doctor. Narrated by Martin Sheen, the film explores the histories and motives of these soldiers.
