I'll Name the Murderer

1936, Crime
Broadway gossip columnist Tommy Tilton (Ralph Forbes) transforms himself into an amateur detective when the body of a nightclub singer is discovered in her dressing room. The police suspect that the singer's ex-lover, Ted Benson (Malcolm MacGregor), murdered her because she had been blackmailing him. Tilton, however, is certain his old college friend, Ted, is innocent. The reporter uses his column to lure the real killer into view, intent on saving his buddy from the electric chair.
