The Galloping Major
Retired British officer Maj. Arthur Hill (Basil Radford) comes up with a novel way to buy a racehorse -- he gets several hundred members of his local community to pitch in as equal part-owners. But things do not go smoothly. First, he manages to purchase the wrong horse, one that has more of an affinity for jumping than racing. Then, on the eve of his prized horse's participation in the Grand National race, the animal vanishes as bookmaker Bottomley (Sid James) and others look on.
