The Foreman Went to France

An English factory worker named Fred Carrick (Clifford Evans) is sent to France to obtain vital equipment in anticipation of a Nazi invasion of Great Britain. He is assisted by an American woman (Constance Cummings), two British soldiers (Tommy Trinder, Gordon Jackson), a French mayor (Robert Morley), a passport official (Mervyn Johns), and a stationmaster (Ernest Milton). The film explores how people, no matter how different, can achieve the nearly impossible when they band together.
