Daniel Takes a Train

Daniel Takes a Train

1983, Crime
In the wake of Hungary's failed 1956 uprising against the Soviet Union, Budapest teen Daniel Szerencsés (Peter Rudolf) attempts to escape to neighboring, democratic Austria, where the family of his girlfriend, Marian (Kati Szerb), has already found asylum. Daniel, along with his trusted friend Gyuri Angeli (Sándor Zsótér) -- a marked man for his participation in the uprising -- set off by train to the Austrian border and encounter a host of obstacles along the way.
