Children in the Crossfire
1984, True Life
Four children from conflict-torn Northern Ireland -- some Catholic, some Protestant -- become involved in an organization that takes them away from their troubled hometown of Belfast to spend a summer in California. On this neutral ground, the kids can sort out what they've been taught about their country's ongoing religion-rooted unrest. As the kids adjust to their new surroundings, they begin to gain new perspectives on the strife in Belfast and the vicious cycle of hatred.
