The Big Gamble

Desperate to repay a debt to ruthless gangster Andrew North (Warner Oland), cardsharp Alan Beckwith (Bill Boyd) agrees to write a check in his own blood. Following instructions, Beckwith secures a massive life insurance policy, lists North as beneficiary, marries former moll Beverly Ames (Dorothy Sebastian) and waits for a year to pass. But, as the day approaches when he must take his own life, Beckwith begins to fall for Ames in earnest and scrambles to raise money to save himself.
