Costas Gavas' World War Two story based on actual events of the time. Ulrich Tukur plays real-life German chemist Kurt Gerstein, who creates a water purification chemical for the German government. When the shocked scientist discovers the substance is being used by the Nazis in their gas chambers, he quickly spreads the awful truth - but the reaction from the Allies and the Church isn't what he'd hoped for. This drama nobly tackles a controversial subject without pulling any punches, but the weight of emotion and inevitable conclusion make this difficult viewing. With Mathieu Kassovitz and Marcel Iures.
